ALBRIGHTON & DISTRICT CIVIC SOCIETY (ADCS)

(Albrighton, Boningale, Donington-with-Boscobel and Tong)

Development East of Shaw Lane
Jessup has appealed against the decision to refuse his planning application No. 17/03774/FUL ie the first Application including the enormous Extra Care Apartments Building (74 Apartments). (You will recall he then made a second Application exactly as the first but without including the land on which the Care Home was located – which was also Refused).

The Albrighton Development Action Group (ADAG) – a spin off from the Civic Society - has been hard at work drafting an objection to his Appeal and delivering more than 1000 Leaflets and a model ‘objection letter’ around the village.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped with these tasks and especially to all residents who wrote to the Planning Inspector in Bristol to object to the Jessup Appeal.
The deadline for representations was 11th June and we understand it may be about 6 weeks before a decision is given.

We understand that Wrekin Housing Trust and Jessup have just received approval for a Extra Care Building with 70 Apartments in Shifnal and as WHT had previously said that they were looking to build an Extra Care Building in Albrighton or Shifnal or anywhere in between that should mean that the Albrighton one is no longer needed or at least uneconomical? – but lets see.

A copy of the ADAG Report and all its Appendices, including the previous Reports issued to the Shropshire Planning Committee and the statements by Cllrs and Residents made to the Planning Meetings, is in the Library for any resident to read.
